Madinat al Irfan
These models explore the design of a new bridge over the wadi landscape at Irfan, outside of Muscat, Oman. They explore how different models can draw our focus, looking at different ways we can express landforms and structure. Contoured layers expressed in rough card highlight the 3D-printed bridge; smoothed contours with a matching material bridge and contrasting acrylic highlight the water. In choosing materials carefully, different points are emphasised even for the same site.
