This model is for an unrealised belvedere - an urban folly - on a site in London. It is a miniature of the materiality of the building. Brass etchings show the lush planting that would envelope its exterior. A piece of oak was crafted into size to convey the structure. The stairs were 3D printed; handrails made from a metal etching. The model rests on a hollow, modular oak base, where it can be removed when not needed. The neighbouring buildings from the context were CNC’d in layers out of 10mm red MDF (Medite) then glued together.
